Airies Station Case Study
"Airies Station is tucked away in South Canterbury between Kimbell and Burkes Pass. It is part of the area famously called the Mackenzie High Country in New Zealand’s South Island. The property was first settled in 1893 and we have farmed here since 1950. Our love of farming has passed from one generation to the next and our PGG Wrightson wool rep, Ange Armstrong, has become part of the family. Between us, and often over a cup of tea in the kitchen or at the wool shed, we share our combined knowledge of best practice wool growing—always with an eye to the welfare of our stock and good solid nutrition to ensure a premium product of which we can be proud. The wool is then sold at auction to meet the market on the day. We belong to the Wool Integrity Programme and this is marked up in the wool catalogue, so wool buyers know they are bidding on a quality line of trustworthy mid-micron Perendale wool." —Grant Munro, Airies Station Partnership Owner/Operator.
